Before me W. H. Jones, Clerk Circuit Court and Ex- Office Clerk of the City of 
Andalusia, in and for said State and County, personally appeared ORIE 
CARPENTER, who, being by me duly sworn; doth depose and say that he/she has 
probable cause for believing, and doth believe that in said County, and within 
twelve months before making this affidavit that GUS CARPENTER, being an able-
bodied person, did abandon his wife and child (ren) either of them, without 
just cause, leaving her or them without sufficient means of subsistence, or in 
danger of becoming a public charge, against the peace and dignity of the State 
of Alabama.

    You are gereby commanded commanded to arrest GUS CARPENTER
 and bring him before the City Court of Andalusia at once, to answer the 
State of Alabama of the Charge of
A Charge of Vagrancy.   Preferred by ORIE CARPENTER, provided, you may release 
the Defendant upon the execution of a Bond in due form, with sufficient 
securities, to be approved by you and conditioned according to law, for his 
appearance at the next term of the City Court of Andalusia, and from term to 
Term until discharged by law, to answer to said charge, said bond to be the 
sum of $------ (blank)

    We, GUS Carpenter, C.C. (Cary C.) Carpenter & B.F. Mills agree to pay 
The State of AL.  TWO HUNDRED Dollars, unless Gus Carpenter appears 
at the next term of the City Court of Andalusia,  said County, convening not 
less than ten days hereafter, and from day to day, and from term to term, 
Thereafter, until discharge by due course of Law, to answer  A CRIMINAL 
PROSECUTION against HIM. In said Court, for the offense of Vagrancy- and we, 
and each of us hereby waive all rights of claims of exemption we or either of 
us have now or may have hereafter have, under the Constitution and Laws of the 
State of Alabama. We hereby severally 
certify that we have Property Free from all incumbrance, to the full amount of 
the above Bond.
