Hoffman, Carol Aplin , age 58,  of McCalla, Alabama, passed away on Wed., Feb 16, 2005.
 Graveside services will be held at Hickman Cemetery on Friday, Feb.18, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Bro. 
Lawrence Brewer officiating.  Visitation will be held on Fri. from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Aplin Rites Held At Oak Grove
Retired Farmer was a Lifelong Resident of Dozier, Route 2
 
       Funeral services were held Saturday for Jim Aplin, 68,
Retired farmer and Lifelong resident of Covington County,
who died at his home, Route 2 Dozier, Last Thursday night.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs Nannie Aplin, route 2, Dozier three
sons, Bruce Aplin, Sopchoppy, Fla. Clyde Aplin, Tallahassee,
Fla. and Elbert Aplin,  Route 2, Dozier, one brother, Tom Aplin,
Two sisters, Mrs. Ella Kircharr and Mrs. Fronnie Jeter all of Uriah, ala.
Funeral was from Oak Grove Baptist Church. Rev. D. S. Stephens, of Red level officiating.
Music was by Miss Betty Walker, Bob Williams, D. H. Williams, James Ganus,
accompanied by Mrs. Beatrice Bryant. Pallbearers were Ferrell Cosby, Clyde Holley, H. Finley,
H. Patterson, John ----- and J. D. Cassady. Interment will be Oak Grove. Fuqua Funeral Home Officiating.

Covington Coutain Passes

 Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Aplin
One of Covington County's oldest citizens, Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Aplin
passed away Sunday morning at the home of Mrs. M. W. Rabren, in the
Adellum community.
The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at two-thirty O'clock from the Adellum Church with the Rev. M. W. Hourthan, pastor of the Christian Church, Andalusia, officiating.
Mrs. Aplin is survived by three sisters, all of whom were present at the funeral, Mrs. Ella Parish, Mrs. Mandy Tompkins, and Mrs. Mollie Russell all of Andalusia. Funeral arrangements by Patrick.

Mary Estelle Aplin, age 86, of Crestview, Fla., died Wednesday, July 22, 1998, at Crestview Nursing and 
Convalescent Home after
a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Aplin was born in Crestview on July 23, 1911, to James
Elbert and Lila Early Davis and had been a lifetime resident of
the Northwest Florida area. Mrs. Aplin was a lifetime member of First Assembly of God Church, where she faithfully served her Lord.
She was a dedicated and devoted Christian, mother, sister, and
grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Aplin was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arnie Lee Aplin; and brother, Joe Davis.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Earl and Maris
Aplin of Crestview, and Lee and Joanne Aplin of port Huron,
Mich.; daughters and son-in-law, Barbara Terrell of Crestview, and Ruth and Bill Moore of Baker, Fla.;brothers and sisters-in-
law, J. B. Davis of Jacksonville, Fla.,  Tim and Jenny Davis of Houston, and Bob and Kathy Davis of Panama City, Fla.;sisters
and brothers -in-law, Leona Ashburn of Inverness, Fla., Doris and Chester Richards, and Edna and Joe Dunayer, all of Pensacola, Fla., numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one  
great-great-grandchild.
A time of visitation will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.
 
Funeral services will be conducted at First Assembly of God
Church in Crestview at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 25, with Mrs.
Aplin being placed in the church at 10 a.m.., one hour prior to
the funeral. The Rev. George Skipper will officiate at the service 
and interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in  Crestview. Family members and close friends will serve as pallbearers.  Floral tributes will be accepted at the funeral home.   Arrangements an services under the direction of Whitehurst
Funeral Home, Crestview.

Johnnie Earl Aplin
 
Johnnie Earl Aplin, age 71, of Opp, Ala. passed away on Friday, October 27, 2000, at his residence.
Mr. Aplin was a Master Mason of Fidelity Lodge No. 685 in Florala, Ala., and an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
Survivors include his wife, Armeta S. Aplin of Opp; son, Jeffrey
Earl Aplin of Opp; daughters, Lisa Lynn Aplin of Auburn, Ala.,
and Tina Renee Donaldson of Destin, Fla.; grandchildren, Emily Donaldson, Trey Donaldson and Kade D.Aplin; brother, Walter L. Aplin of Ozark, Ala.; and sisters, Margie Evey of Gainesville, Fla., Geneatte Jackson of Monroeville, Alabama., and Betty Sue Hoven of Citronelle, Ala.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Monday, October  30, 2000, at Wyatt Funeral Home in Opp.
 Burial will follow
at Peaceful Acres. Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday,Oct. 29, 2000, at the funeral home.

A. J. Barton Dies; Services Held at Bethany Sat.  Funeral services conducted by Rev. G. H. Shears from Bethany Baptist Church.

A. J. Barton Dies                     The Andalusia Star 2-13-1936.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10:00 at the Bethany Baptist church for Andrew J. Barton, who died at his home, Andalusia Route 6, near Heath, Friday morning after several months of Ill health.
The services began with the dinging of the hymn, "Shall we gather at the river," after
which the Rev. G. H. Shears read passages from the 11 and 14th chapters of St. John, Prayer was offered by Mr. W. C. Boutwell, Following The Rev. Shears tribute to Mr. Barton, Miss Sallie Powell sang a special song accompanied by Mrs. Curtis Turner. Interment was made in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were the grandsons of the deceased. Marvin Bartin, Nathan Barton, Fletcher
Barton, David Tadlock, Frank Tadlock, and Guy Tadlock.
Mr. Barton moved to the county about forty years ago from Crenshaw county and has
lived within five miles of the place where he died during that time. He was a member of the
Bethany Baptist Church at Heath and was also a member of the Andalusia Pine Camp,
102, Woodman of the World. He is survived by his wife; four sons W. M., F. D., G. F. and L.C. Barton, all of Andalusia.

Mrs. A. J. Barton died at her home in Heath Tuesday, Nov. 1 after an illness of several weeks.

Mrs. Barton was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church and was a devoted Christian and mother.
The deceased  is survived by three sons and three daughters.
Sons are F. D. , G. F. and L. C. Barton all of Andalusia Route 6 daughters are Mrs. J. A. Tadlock, Mrs. M. B. Fletcher, of Andalusia and Mrs. Alonzo Elmore, Sanford. Funeral services were held for Mrs. Barton Thursday, Nov. 3 at the 
Bethany Baptist Church with the Rev. G. H. Shears of Opp officiating. Interment followed in the Bethany
cemetery where Mrs. Barton was laid to rest beside her husband who preceded her in death several years ago. 
Beautiful floral offerings made
a hugh mound over the grave. Pallbearers were Messrs, Walter Hall, Carl Spicer, H. Slawson, O. V. Johnson, J. G. Sapp and William Sutton. Foreman Funeral Home directing.

Alvin Doyle Carroll. age 70, of Garden City, Fla., went to meet his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999, from the North Okaloosa Medical Center in Crestview, Fla., following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Carroll was born in Florala, Ala., on Aug. 6, 1929 to Alvin
C. and Lowney L. Aplin Carroll and was a lifetime resident of
the Northwest Florida area. Doyle worked for and retired from
Monsanto Chemical Co. after 28 years of dedicated service.
Prior to his career at Monsanto, he worked at Eglin Air Force
Base, Fla., in the transportation department for several years.
He was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and a recipient
of the Purple Heart. He was a member and deacon of Laurell Hill
Baptist Church of Laurell Hill, Fla., member of Laurel Hill
Masonic Lodge 44; and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 289.
 
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years of beautiful marriage, Merle Mitchell Carroll of Garden City; sons and
daughter-in-law, Charles and Linda Carroll of Garden City,  and Kenny Carroll of Crestview, Fla. He had four precious
grandchildren, Keith, Shelley, Brian and Kevin Carroll; sisters and brother-in law, Muriel Savage and Ernestine Carroll, both
of Florala, and Maggie and Raymond Pittman of San Diego; brother and sister-in-law, Franklin D. and Freida Carroll of
Keithsville, La.; sisters-in-law, Jean Carroll of Panama City, Fla., and Luna Mae Couey of Florala.
 Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29, in
the chapel of Whitehurst Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry
Everage officiating. Interment will follow in Reeder Cemetery  in Campton, Fla., with military honors provided by the U.S.
Navy. Deacons of First Baptist Church of Laurel Hill will serve  as pallbearers at the chapel.  Arrangements and services under construction of Whitehurst Funeral Home, Crestview.
