Henry J. Hunt was a respected planter and lumberman from Tensaw, Baldwin county, Alabama. Born in Georgia in 1827, Hunt relocated to Alabama, where he served in the Alabama cavalry during the Civil War. Following the war, he established a successful lumber business and farming operation. Recognized as an active community member, Hunt was part of the Tensaw lodge and the Missionary Baptist church.
January 20, 1942 – January 3, 2010 Mrs. Helen Claire Byrd, age 67, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2010 at her Flomaton residence. Mrs. Byrd was born in Mobile, AL and had been a resident of Flomaton since 1971. She retired as a bus driver for the Escambia County School System, and was a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church. Mrs. Byrd was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Edward Ray Byrd; her father, Mr. William Arzo Wiggins, Sr.; a brother, Mr. William Arzo Wiggins, Jr. and a Great Granddaughter, Jaylyn Franklin.
