Mrs. Verda Mae Gandy Abrams age 91 of Tulip Street in Flomaton, passed away January 28, 2010 at her home. She was a native and long time resident of Lenox, Alabama and had resided in Flomaton since 1938. She was a retired Draw Twist Operator with Monsanto Corp and was a member of the Poplar Dell Baptist Church. She enjoyed the senior citizen center and enjoyed going to the Extension Service Meeting. Survivors; son – James Gandy of Gandyville, Fl (2) Daughters – Carolyn (Bob) Shelton of Montgomery, Texas; Linda (Fred) Shiver of Mobile, Ala; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday February 1, 2010 at 1PM at the Flomaton Funeral Home with Rev. Mitch Herring and Rev. Ragan Boling officiating. Interment followed in Byrneville Methodist Church Cemetery with FLOMATON FUNERAL HOME DIRECTING.
