Below is some of the following people named in her memo to her sister Bertha “Buff” (Griggs) Bridges, Uncle Jim was my grandfather James Samuel Griggs. Uncle Ev was Everett Otto Griggs who was a brother of James Samuel Griggs. Vera was Vera (Griggs) Burgett, daughter of Uncle Ev and Aunt Carrie (Black) Griggs. Aunt Carrie was Carrie (Black) Griggs who was married to Everett Otto Griggs. I don’t know who the Lillie was that Gracie mentioned. Opal (Griggs) Hudgins was the daughter of James Samuel Griggs. Gracie signed simply as “g”.Gracie’s father was Rhodum Griggs, another brother of Uncle Ev & Uncle Jim although his name is not mentioned but he is referred to as “Dad”. Rhodum Griggs was a very religious man who didn’t believe in drinking or playing cards, gambling or dancing. He was a Methodist & a Bible Salesman for many years for the Methodist Publishing House.
