Though married in adjoining DeKalb Co., Turman B. and Sara Frances Maddox spent their married life in Marshall Co. [Her parents, James Marion and Sara Frances (Willard)Evans migrated from Butts Co. GA, and settled in Dekalb-c.1880] T. B. Maddox had married Sara’s older sister, Martha Jane Evans, in Butts Co. GA on December 19, 1877. The couple migrated shortly after the 1880 census was taken there. They had six known children before, Martha’s death, May 23, 1893. T. B. and Sarah Frances had three known children before her untimely death on August 5, 1902. Both sisters are buried in Union Grove Baptist Church cemetery in Marshall Co. T. B. Maddox returned to Butts Co. GA, where he died in 1928.
