Ada Louise Apperson, 77, died, December 11, in a Selma hospital.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 12, from Big Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Roy officiating and Ridouts Prattville Chapel directing.
Survivors include, her husband, William D. Apperson, Billingsley; a son, Harold David Apperson, Billingsley; daughter, Barbara McCormick, Billingsley; three sisters, Sarah Milligan, Ramer; Lena Turner, Billingsley and Rosa Lee Turner, Billingsley; and three grandchildren.

Obituary for Harold D. “Bear” Apperson, 2017
Harold D. “Bear” Apperson, 64, a lifelong Autauga County resident, passed away Sunday January 8, 2017. Mr. Apperson was born on April 28, 1952 to the late William and Louise Turner Apperson. He was a member of the Billingsley Volunteer Fire Department and the Pletcher Community Church. He spent his entire life in the field of agriculture. He will always be remembered for his skill and knowledge of farming, his hard work ethic and for his willingness to help anyone in need. He is survived by his loving wife of over 25 years, Elizabeth Apperson, and a host of other family members and many close friends. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday January 11th at the Apperson Family Cemetery with the Pastors Joey Green and Wendell Kelly officiating. Pallbearers will be Louis Turner, Tray Langford, Bobby Willis, Larry Thomas, Tommy Hill and Donald Lee Davis.

Died Sunday
Funeral services for James Francis Apperson, 69, whose death occurred unexpectedly at 9:15 a.m. Saturday at his home at Jones, was held at 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon from the Jones Baptist Church of which he was a charter member and deacon. The Rev. J. D. Hopper officiated. Burial was in the Jones Baptist Cemetery.
The pallbearers were Hubert Smedley, Woodrow Smedley, John Milner Parker, Charles Reed, and J. T. Reed of Jones, and James Bertram King, Prattville.
Masonic rites were conducted at the graveside. A Mason and a Knight Templar, Mr. Apperson had long been actively identified with the Jones lodge.
Mr. Apperson’s passing came only a short time after he was stricken while working in his garden with a foster son, Wilber Reed, who was reared in his home from infancy. A former section foreman of the Southern Railway with which he was employed for 47 years, Mr. Apperson retired in 1942 because of failing health. Born June 2, 1878, at Chapel Hill, Texas, he had been a resident of the Jones community since the age of 11 years with the exception of a brief period spent at Burnsville when he first began railroad work in 1895.
In 1904 Mr. Apperson was married to Miss Emma Belle Smedley, who survives with their two daughters, Miss Jessie Mae Apperson of Jones, and Miss Frances Apperson, an assistant librarian at the University of Florida, who was on vacation at home at the time of her father’s death. D. B. Apperson, of Selma, is a brother and surviving sisters are Mrs. L. O. Olive, Mrs. Laura Walburn, and Miss Fannie Apperson, all of Birmingham, and Mrs. J. F. King of Billingsley. A twin brother, William J. Apperson of Plantersville, preceded Mr. Apperson to the grave some years ago.

J. H. Apperson Was
A Splendid Citizen
Mr. J. H. Apperson, who died on January 25th at his home in beat 9, was one of Autauga’s good citizens. He was born Nov. 13, 1853, at the old Apperson homestead near Billingsley and spent his entire life in the county. In early manhood he was married to Miss Mollie Wight, who preceded him to the grave about four years.
Mr. Apperson was a charter member of the Evergreen Baptist church and remained faithful to that church until his death.
Funeral and interment was in Big Springs cemetery, with Rev. J. W. Mitchell officiating. Pallbearers were Messrs. Willie Apperson, Albert Ware, Adrian Smoke, Richard Apperson, Paul McGee, Henry Milton Apperson.
The deceased is survived by two brothers, J. F. Apperson, Billingsley, and G. W. Apperson, Omaha, Texas, and one sister, Mrs. B. M. Ware, Billingsley.

Leo D. Apperson, 56, died Sunday in a Montgomery hospital after an illness of two months. Graveside services were at 3 p.m. Monday at Live Oak Cemetery, Selma, with Rev. Otey Crisman officiating.
Survivors include an aunt, Miss Fannie Apperson of Birmingham; three cousins, Miss Jessie Mae Apperson of Jones, Miss Frances Apperson of Gainesville, Fla., and Miss Mabel King of Billingsley.

Mrs. Mary E. Apperson, 85, died at her home Saturday after a brief illness.
Funeral services were held from the residence Sunday at 3 p. m. with the Rev. Winfred Wilford officiating. Burial was in the Apperson Family Cemetery with Griffin Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include four sons, J. L. Apperson, Nashville, Tenn., W. D. Apperson, Billingsley, H. H. Apperson, Centreville, R. W. Apperson, Prattville; two daughters, Mrs. Clifton Turner, Billingsley, Mrs. W. M. Browning, Autaugaville; one brother, E. L. Overstreet, Billingsley; three sisters, Mrs. George Smith, Billingsley, Mrs. Howard Smokes, Sylacauga, Mrs. G. B. Wright, Selma; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were E. R. Smith, L. A. Ware, W. W. Overstreet, E. L. Overstreet, Charlie Overstreet, and Henry M. Apperson.

Otto R. Apperson, age 47, passed away August 21, at 2:40 P.M. in the Veterans Hospital in Houston, Texas. He was the son of Mrs. Etta R. Apperson of Clanton and the late J. Farmer Apperson. Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Frances Apperson; three daughters, Misses Carolyn, Judy, and Shirley Apperson, of Houston, Texas; mother, Mrs. Etta R. Apperson, of Clanton; one brother, Henry M. Apperson, of Moss Point, Mississippi.
Funeral services were held at Boulevard Funeral Chapel, Rev. Richardson officiating. Burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
