Mr. Goffre Wayne Hawsey, Age 89, passed away Friday, January 1, 2010 in a local healthcare facility.
Mr. Hawsey was born in Dixonville, AL and had been a resident of the Brewton area for the past 55 years, coming from Mobile. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Air Force, and had worked as a Maintenance Superitendant at Container Corp. prior to his retirement. He was a member of Catawba Springs Baptist Church. Mr. Hawsey was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Lucille Hawsey.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry & Javonda Hawsey of Brewton, and Tim and Diana Hawsey of Flomaton; two sisters, Katherine Cahoon of Mobile, Deane Knight of Gulf Shores; six grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at Catawba Springs Baptist Church on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jeff Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Catawba Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Craver’s Funeral Home on Sunday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Craver’s Funeral Home Directing.
