Mr. William Sam Griffin, Jr., age 84, passed away Friday, January 8, 2010 in the local nursing home.
Mr. Griffin was born in Skinnerton, AL and had been a resident of the Brewton area for the past 24 years, coming from Evergreen. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Navy. He worked as a Jet Engine Tester for a number of years. He was a former member of Woodmen of the World, and attended New Haven Holiness Church. Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by a son, Mr. William Rodney Griffin.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Irene Griffin of Brewton; two grandchildren, Charles Andrew (Charlene) Griffin of Red Level, AL, and Tammie Griffin (Joseph) Harrell of Andalusia, AL; two great-grandchildren, Drew Griffin and Hannah Griffin.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Steadman officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Craver’s Funeral Home on Saturday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Craver’s Funeral Home Directing.
