Edwin Baldwin, born in 1848, was a versatile entrepreneur in Baldwin County. Following service in the Civil War and varied occupations including river pilot and cowboy, he established a thriving business empire. His endeavors spanned from mercantile pursuits to a lumber and juniper business, grist and saw mill operation, pottery and brick production, and plans for a cannery. His resourcefulness significantly contributed to the growth of Baldwin County.
November 7, 1944 – January 27, 2010 Mr. Rayburn Earl Burch, Sr., age 65, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at his East Brewton Residence. Mr. Burch was a native and life long resident of Escambia County, AL. He worked in the logging industry during his working years. He attended Full Gospel Revival Center in Monroeville. Wadsworth Baptist Cemetery is in the community of Wadsworth, owned and maintained by the Wadsworth Baptist church. The cemetery appears to have begun in the 1890s, judging from the existing headstones. It is still being used at the present time. To reach the cemetery from Deatsville, travel northwest on CR 143 about 6 miles until you reach County Road 68. Turn right and the cemetery will be on the right side of the road.
