He was a native of Bartow, Florida and a former resident of Gulfport, MS and Mobile, Alabama before moving to Winter Haven 2 years ago. He was a retired Field Rep with the U.S. Department of Labor and was of the Methodist faith. He was a United States Army veteran and was a member of the J.H. McKormic Lodge #149. His joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

Mrs. Milligan was a native of Hazel Green, Alabama and a former resident of Brewton, Alabama before moving to McDavid in 1952. She was a homemaker, member of the Sew and So Club as well as the Grace Baptist Church. William D. Smith, a prominent business man and planter of Autauga county, Alabama, was born in Jones county, Georgia, January 26, 1809. His parents, John Scott and Sarah (Bush) Smith, were also natives of Georgia, where they were married, and whence they came in 1818 to Alabama, and located in Autauga county, being among the pioneer settlers, and improved a farm on Nolan’s creek. Merrill E. Pratt, deceased, a nephew of Daniel Pratt, also a native of Temple, New Hampshire, was born February 23, 1828, a son of Edward and Dorcas (Pevey) Pratt, the former a brother of Daniel. The father died when Merrill E. was a little boy, but the mother survived until a few years ago, when she died in New Hampshire. Merrill E. received a sound, but somewhat limited education at the north, and when about fourteen years old came south and made his home with his uncle, with whom he later became associated in the cotton-gin works. Beulah Cemetery is located on Fort Rucker on 249 (Andrews Dr.) just inside the East Gate of Fort Rucker. I found many sites that were unmarked or had markers that were deteriorated over the years by mother nature and vandalism. In addition, I found a a report that was completed August 6, 1948*; I compared my findings with this report and have included the names from the report that I couldn’t locate markers for presently. (My trips to Beulah Cemetery were on November 21, 1996 and again a few days later to verify some discrepancies that I discovered. ) The
